AFTER WASHING YOUR HANDS...sneezing into your sleeve, keeping your distance and wiping down all the surfaces...

Is that all we can really do to minimize the risk to ourselves and our families of getting the corona virus?  Absolutely not!

There’s no lack of information out there - some of it grounded in science and statistics, some of it hype and conjecture.  There’s a lot to weed through and the rapidity at which the information is evolving is stunning.  We clearly need to keep up with new developments to further our understanding of how to adapt.

The problem is that the majority of the information is focusing only on one part of the equation - the virus.   And that part is indeed critical.  But there’s not nearly as much information available that speaks to the other part of the equation.  To some health practitioners this part is as important if not more so.  The second part of this equation has to do with the terrain that hosts the virus and how resistant and resilient it is.

In essence, how prepared is your immune system to handle the fight?

All of the public health measures are focused on the first half of this equation - how to minimize your contact with the virus as well as reduce the spread of it.  These measures, along with advice to stock your pantry, have to do with maximizing external defense measures.  Unfortunately, that leaves most people with the impression that once you’ve done all that, there’s nothing left to do but keep your fingers crossed.  Which is unfortunate because there’s plenty to be done to shore up our internal defenses.  And the sooner you start the better.  And its more than vitamin C and zinc.

We know what it takes to build a robust and hardy immune system.  And its something we all  need to be doing.  The benefit of taking steps now to do so could have significant ramifications for how we survive this immediate crises.  But it could also have even more payoff for our health in general going forward.  By reducing the challenges to the immune system, you could be reducing your blood pressure and your risk of heart disease and diabetes; clearing your head and improving your skin; boosting your energy level and returning to a more vital version of yourself - all because you’re taking active steps to reduce inflammation.

There are so many ways to actively build a healthy, responsive immune system and that’s what we’ll be focusing on over the next several weeks.

The focus will be appropriate for most individuals as well as those who are already dealing with immune-compromised conditions, like auto-immunity as well as chronic degenerative illnesses, such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, hormonal imbalances, etc.  Much of this information will be available as blog posts to begin with, so sign up and stay updated.  Learn how to tap into the healer within to survive and thrive.

To your health, Suzanne
